Kongmei WangIn March 2014, the Oro Valley Police Department received multiple reports of suspicious activity at Oro Spa, located at 10110 N Oracle Road. An investigation was launched, involving the Oro Valley Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit, Oro Valley Police Department Community Action Team, Homeland Security Investigations and the Tucson Police Department. Over the past several weeks, surveillance was conducted and the investigation revealed that there were multiple transactions of sex acts in exchange for money.
On April 16, 2014, Hong Chen, a 44-year-old female, and Kongmei Wang, a 48-year-old female, were arrested for one count each of prostitution and one count of practicing massage without a license. Both charges are class one misdemeanors. Chen and Wang were booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing, and OVPD is asking anyone with additional information on this case to contact 911, 88-Crime or (520) 229-4900.
