Arizona’s politicians and pundits weighed-in with their random thoughts and assessments on social media of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.
From clothing to clapping, the smallest details were duly noted in the Twittershpere.
A CBS News poll taken after the speech found that 76 percent of viewers approved of what they heard. 72 percent said they approved of Pres. Trump’s ideas for immigration.

“We must keep America first in our hearts. We must keep freedom alive in our souls. And we must always keep faith in America’s destiny — that one Nation, under God, must be the hope & the promise & the light & the glory among all the nations of the world!” @realDonaldTrump

Many #Democratic Congressional representatives wore white for #StateOfTheUnion address, honoring the women’s suffrage movement, including @RepKirkpatrick. I guess @SenatorSinema & @SenWarren didn’t get the memo. #ERA #Equality4All #ShePersisted @Indivisible_SAZ @BlogForArizona pic.twitter.com/QJMAnTisVP

In suffragette white, I’m proud to have environmental advocate Christina McVie w/ me. We are hoping to hear the President be a unifying leader tonight & acknowledge the value of environmental protections & access to affordable healthcare for ALL. @HouseDemWomen pic.twitter.com/FWWDn3Ai3j

Great seat for my first #SOTU. Shook President Trump’s hand as he made his way to the podium.

Glad to also see Washington follow Arizona’s lead again, with more women serving in Congress than ever before. Arizona was proud to celebrate record representation by women in our legislature last year, and will continue to lead on the things that matter (3/3) #SOTU

In Arizona, our budget invests millions for infrastructure projects, including $130 million to expand and improve safety along I-17, but there’s more to be done. AZ is ready to work with Washington on a new infrastructure package! (2/3) #SOTU

.@POTUS: America was founded on liberty and independence –- not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free. Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country. #SOTU

If the entire #Congress isn’t standing to applaud when #POTUS says “America will never be a socialist country,” we are in serious trouble. #SOTU2019

Democrats sit for life. Cheer for infanticide. Jesus help us.

Maybe ask Senators who didn’t stand why they didn’t stand for getting rid of late term abortions? The general public finds them abhorrent… https://t.co/IjFfIByse9

Border security starts at modernizing our ports of entry, and Trump’s ridiculous vanity wall won’t stop the flow of illegal drugs into this country or help customs officers detect them. #SOTU https://t.co/7PC4hnNRNP

There’s so much we agree on as Americans. We must cut red tape for businesses, grow jobs, and work together to bridge manufactured partisan divides. I’ll continue to stand up for #AZ against this unnecessary trade war and keep working with anyone to get results for Arizona.
— Kyrsten Sinema (@SenatorSinema) February 6, 2019
Why won’t the Dems celebrate being American – born free and staying free. We will NEVER be a socialist country! #SOTU2019

Art Del Cueto and I both enjoyed hearing from @POTUS @realDonaldTrump tonight, and we left the Capitol more emboldened to serve the American people. After the address, we talked about our thoughts on the President’s State of the Union. #SOTU pic.twitter.com/qFoqIHhQ2q

I am witnessing the Greatest #SOTU in American history!
The world can see where @realDonaldTrump stands in solidarity with the American people
The world should also see where the left stands in opposition of this country’s values and successes
