Previously deported armed robber apprehended by Casa Grande Border Patrol agents

LUKEVILLE — A previously deported Mexican national, Silvestre Verdugo-Valles, 25, who has a violent criminal history, was arrested after he illegally entered the U.S. east of Lukeville on Saturday afternoon.

Casa Grande Border Patrol agents patrolling on dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles tracked a group of 10 illegal aliens for more than nine miles before locating and arresting them, said a U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release.

Verdugo-Valles’s criminal history includes a conviction for armed robbery with a deadly weapon in Phoenix, for which he was sentenced to five years in prison.

He is facing a felony charge of re-entry of a felon. The other nine men who were apprehended with him are being processed for immigration violations.
