Investigators Search For Suspect In Fatal Phoenix Hit And Run

Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a multiple vehicle collision that resulted in the death of an adult male passenger, 67-year-old Enrique Cortez.

Investigators are searching for the driver of the suspected vehicle that caused this fatal collision in the area of 1900 West Linden Street.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, at about 5:23 p.m., on September 26, 2024, patrol officers were called to a collision involving five different vehicles with one of them being reported to have left the area. When officers got to the collision site, they contacted an adult male passenger suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Phoenix Fire Department personnel also provided treatment to four other patients all of whom were taken to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries. Two of the transported patients were juveniles and two were adults.

Detectives are encouraging anyone with information into the identity of the hit and run vehicle to call into Silent Witness.
