Arizonans Know: It’s the Economy, Stupid

As Vice President Kamala Harris steps onto the debate stage to face President Donald Trump, we should ask the same question President Ronald Reagan posed in 1980: are we better off now than we were four years ago?

Just as it was 40 years ago, the answer is a resoundingly “no.”

As Arizonans grapple with rising prices, inflation is the number one issue for voters across the state. The Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous economic policies have led to historic inflation, making it nearly impossible for many American families to make ends meet. The pain of these destructive policies is felt as we struggle to pay for everyday necessities like groceries, gas, and electricity.

Skyrocketing prices are affecting everything from a burger at In-N-Out to an ice-cold beer at the Arizona Diamondbacks game. Consider this: in 2020, a double-burger combo meal at In-N-Out cost $6.70. Today? You’ll pay an increase of 65%. The price of a beer at a Diamondbacks game has jumped by nearly 25%. An Arizona staple, a Sonoran hot dog is up 14%. Even PetSmart, which is proudly headquartered in the Grand Canyon State, is not immune— the price of pet food has increased by 22%.

Biden-Harris inflation has hit Arizona hard, and the cause is clear: their administration’s reckless spending and socialist economic policies, from higher taxes and burdensome regulations to their war on American energy. But when Harris takes the debate stage, expect her to try to distract from her economic failures by rehashing tired talking points and dodging real questions about her agenda’s impact on hard-working Arizonans.

The truth is that Harris’s economic plan is built on false promises and a radical hard-Left ideology. Her support for Soviet-style price controls is a direct assault on the free market and would lead to shortages, stifle growth, and exacerbate inflation. Just ask Russia how price controls and other socialist policies worked for them in the 1980s.

Arizona families want to know why their grocery bills have doubled and why their favorite local products are becoming unaffordable. They want economically responsible leadership that will rein in inflation and support policies that promote job growth and increase wages.

However, we are unlikely to hear a plan from Harris that addresses these concerns. Instead, she will continue deceptively claiming that the economy is steadily recovering on her watch and boast about the number of jobs gained during the Biden-Harris administration. But these claims ring hollow when they conflict with Arizonans’ reality of paychecks stretched thin, savings depleted, and the American dream slipping further out of reach.

Arizona is built on hard work, family values, a fierce sense of independence, and the ability to create opportunity for the next generation. But Harris’s radical San Francisco policies threaten all of that. She’s previously supported policies like decriminalizing illegal immigration, banning fracking, abolishing private health insurance, and defunding the police. These policies would devastate countless Arizona communities.

Harris is now running away from her previous positions on top issues that are critical to our safety and security, including border security. She once called Trump’s border wall a “vanity project” and “unAmerican,” but when she saw significant public support for border wall construction, she suddenly – and dishonestly – claimed support for it.

The debate will be an opportunity for Harris to finally explain her agenda, but don’t hold your breath. She holds the second-highest office in the land. If she had an economic agenda that helped – instead of hurt – Americans, why hasn’t she carried it out in the last four years?

Her disastrous record speaks for itself—and puts Americans last.

It’s time for real leadership, and Arizona deserves a President who always puts hard-working Americans first. It’s time to fire Kamala Harris and bring back the Trump economic boom.

  1. Judging from the stupid stickers on cars and the trend of the growing lumpen proletariat class in the Phoenix and Tucson area not everyone understands that. And they are the majority or the deciding “undecided” bunch. Traditional, hard working Arizonans do not count anymore.

  2. another preaching to the choir article. I dont think any of the leftists dems read this site so it will have little effect on them. I saw some spots on tv where they didnt know who harris or better yet who was the current vp, but they said they would vote for her. even the talk shows with black personalities have said NOT TO vote for her but again its not tv or news that this message needs to be on. I dont do social media crap but from what I have read/heard that is where it needs to be POSTED if you want to get he message out.

  3. Don’t expect any democrats to read the article. After all, Kamal laughs a lot and dances… and THAT’S what’s important.

  4. Great factual article! Let’s just hope the ill-informed and not so wealthy people read it because the majority of the well to do residents, especially in the Phoenix area, aren’t that affected by this and they could care less except to vote AGAINST Trump rather than what is better for the common good!
