Arizona certified the results of the 2024 general election on Monday.
Republicans generally swept competitive races, including the presidential race, as this certification then made way for the electoral to formally give President-Elect Donald Trump the state’s 11 electoral votes. Senator-Elect Ruben Gallego won the state’s Senate race to replace outgoing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.
The state’s Democratic leaders said that the post-election season was calmer in comparison to 2020.
“I’m incredibly hopeful that this ministerial but important function can return just to that boring… signing of papers certifying the elections,” Hobbs said.
“Regardless of who won, regardless of whether we agree with the outcome or not, I’m hopeful that we can return to that sense of normalcy,” she added.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes went as far as to say that the era of “election denialism” is “dead.”
While there were no statewide recounts necessary, there are a small handful of local and county-level recounts occurring, including in a competitive Maricopa County Board of Supervisors race.
“There are a few races across the state that are to be recounted,” Fontes said. “My team has already conducted logic and accuracy tests where that is necessary.”
Later on Monday, Hobbs is expected to hold a celebration for the passage of Proposition 139, which granted the constitutional right to an abortion in the state. However, propositions overall had mixed results – Proposition 314 passed to allow local and state authorities to enforce federal border policies, whereas a handful of other legislature-referred proposals failed.
Where are the election deniers now?
I see a picture of three election deniers, since they vowed to actively work against the upcoming Administration from enforcing National Immigration Laws.
Look at the three imbecile faces on this picture. Is this the best and brightest in AZ? Not just disappointing but very disturbing that these are the so called leaders.
Abortion was already legal up to 15 weeks of pregnancy. Prop 139, thanks to loads of out-of-state funding and outright lies, expanded that legal right beyond 15 weeks. The description here errantly implies abortion is a “new” right. So Hobbs is “celebrating” the right to unilaterally terminate human life. Of course she is.
AMEN! This issue of Abortion – is turning the nation – Hobbs ; has no problem of ever needing one… perhaps she can artificially incriminate so she too can ‘enjoy’ her ‘right’… she’s lucky her mom ‘elected’ to give birth. How long after birth can one be ‘aborted’? Or is that ‘next election’.
who won the nation needs to know.. oh they went to bed – time for the next election… hmmm
