Phoenix Police Department detectives suspect that speed was a major contributing factor that led to a fatal single vehicle crash in west Phoenix early Sunday morning.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just before 2:00 a.m., on February 23, 2025, officers responded to a single vehicle collision near 59th Avenue and Indian School Road. Phoenix Fire was first on scene and had pronounced 20-year-old Jesus Dominguez-Romo deceased.

Detectives learned Dominguez-Romo was driving west on Indian School Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control crashing into a tree on the north side of the road.
