Crown King resident arrested for running to store

A Crown King resident, William Tiffany, 53, was arrested for disobeying a lawful order involving a fire scene. On May 20, deputies were notified that Tiffany had gone to the Crown King store to purchase cigarettes and beer.

Deputies arrived and arrested Tiffany for violation of the lawful evacuation order, a misdemeanor.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information from personnel working the fire lines around Crown King regarding Tiffany’s presence in various public areas of town.

Tiffany had been previously warned by deputies that the lawful mandatory evacuation order allowed him to stay in Crown King only if he remained on his private property.

Tiffany was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center.

Deputies will also maintain a heavy patrol presence in the area to preventing looting and continue actively pursuing persons knowingly violating evacuation orders.
