Tucson veterans remember the fallen

A gathering of veterans attended the Morgan McDermott post of the American Legion #7 Memorial Day service at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson yesterday. The veterans were joined by Tucsonans paying their respects to the fallen, including community leaders such as Joe Flores and Tucson mayor Jonathan Rothschild.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #10188 conducted a rifle salute. The ceremony included the traditional laying of the wreath and the color guard was provided by the Sons of the American Revolution.

Over 300 people attended the event. Veterans groups included: S.A.L. Squadron #7, Auxiliary Unity #7, American Legion Riders Post #7, Casas Adobes American Legion Post #73, American Legion Post #132, VFW Post #10188, VFW Post #549, DAV Chapter 2, DAV Chapter 5, and Navy Women Veterans, Desert Waves Chapter #13.
