Drug tunnel discovered by Mexican army

Mexico’s Defence Department has announced the discovery of a 230-metre tunnel running under the Sonora-Arizona border according to various news sources. The Mexican army made the discovery of the tunnel that was used to smuggle drugs into the United States.

The tunnel ran from an ice and purified water business in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, to a business in San Luis, Arizona.

The tunnel was 1.3 metres high and reached a depth of almost 18 metres below ground according to General Raul Guereca. The tunnel had electricity, ventilation and small cars to transport the drugs through the tunnel.
