Tucson driver dies in single vehicle accident

On December 10, 2012, at 3:42 p.m., Tucson Police Department officers own responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at 29th Street and Columbus Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a 2006 Honda Pilot which had struck a concrete wall. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to a local area hospital with critical injuries. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival to the hospital.

Tucson Police Department traffic detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. They determined that the Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on 29th Street approaching Columbus when the driver lost control of his vehicle for unknownreasons. The vehicle crossed the westbound lanes of traffic and struck the concrete wall on the northeast corner of the pedestrian bridge.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 51-year old Rizaldy Yap. Next of kin have been notified.
