Detectives with the Sheriff’s Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST) and members of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Arizona WANTED Task Force apprehended a dangerous fugitive, Albert Flores Canez, age 33.
Canez was originally wanted by the Tucson Police Department who identified him as a suspect in an investigation that originated on December 22, 2012. The Superior Court in Pima County issued a warrant on January 16, for Canez’ arrest and the FIST Unit together with the USMS Arizona WANTED Task Force began their investigation. Within hours of the warrant becoming active, investigators were able to develop leads and information that led them to Canez.
At about 3:20 p.m., investigators located Canez in the Midvale Park/Valencia Road area. He was successfully apprehended and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center. Canez was wanted on one count of Attempted First Degree Murder, one count of Armed Robbery, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one count of Aggravated Assault, Temporary/Substantial Disfigurement, one count of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Prohibited Possessor.
