Motorcyclist dies from injuries after crash on Mt. Lemmon

On March 29, 2013, at approximately 5:20 p.m., deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a crashed motorcyclist on General Hitchcock Highway (Mt. Lemmon) at milepost 12. Upon arrival, deputies found the motorcyclist had gone over the guard rail and sustained serious injuries. He was conscious and talking to rescuers.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Spencer Repp, was airlifted to University of Arizona Medical Center (UAMC) for further treatment. The effects of his injuries took a turn for the worse and he passed away at the hospital later that night. Deputies determined that speed was a factor and Mr. Repp lost control over his motorcycle going southbound on General Hitchcock Highway.

Spencer Repp was a student at the University of Arizona and originally came from New York State.

The investigation continues.
