Among those attending this year’s event will be acclaimed actor and director Joe Mantegna, who will be receiving the 2013 JFI Award for Patriotism; award-winning actor and musician Gary Sinise, 2011 JFI Award for Patriotism Honoree; businessman and philanthropist Mike Ingram, who will be receiving the 2013 JFI Lifetime Achievement Award; and businessman and humanitarian Foster Friess, 2010 JFI Lifetime Achievement Honoree.
The Joe Foss Institute, fills an educational gap and invests in future leaders in three ways. They offer the Veterans Inspiring Patriotism program, eCurriculum program and teacher trainings, and a college scholarship program.
The Joe Foss Institute was inspired and founded by World War II hero and Medal of Honor recipient General Joe Foss and his wife, “didi.” Joe’s vision was to enlist fellow Veterans nationwide to “teach young people about the value of their freedoms.”
