St. Christopher’s parishoners to deliver tools for school success

The parishioners of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church of the West Valley in Sun City will deliver backpacks to school children today after weeks of shopping.

Armed with a long list of much needed supplies the volunteers filled 22 backpacks for delivery today and have extra supplies to fill another 3 in the next day or two. According to parishioner Mona Guarino, “the backpacks also included a note to students explaining where the supplies came from and inviting students who later need more supplies to let us know.”

Students at Country Meadows Elementary School and Cheyenne Elementary School will receive the backpacks filled with pencils, markers, erasers, glue sticks, among other much needed school supplies.

The note included with the supplies reads, “May these supplies and backpack help you to have an exciting and successful school year. If you need things this year, please contact the church office.”
