The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a three-day project to improve a 14-mile segment of State Route 80 east of Tombstone on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The two-lane highway will be restricted to one lane from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day through Thursday, Oct. 10, and a pilot vehicle will guide traffic through the work area. Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected.
The project will extend the life of the asphalt on SR 80 between Tombstone and the junction with State Route 90.
Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through the work zone and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about scheduled highway restrictions and closures, but unscheduled restrictions can occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
