Tucson man arrested for stabbing, killing wife

slatinOn the evening of October 12, Tucson Police responded to a reported stabbing incident that occurred at a residence in the 500 block of North Evelyn Avenue. A Tucson man, Art Slatin, has been arrested on suspicion of second degree murder of his wife, Marcella, and was booked into the Pima County Jail.

When officers responded to the address, they located Marcella Slatin, age 35, inside of the residence. She was suffering from apparent stab wounds. Her husband was also inside of the residence, and three of their children were outside of the house in a family vehicle. The female had life threatening injuries and was transported to a local trauma center where she died. Slatin and his children did not have injuries.

Detectives are in the process of trying to determine what occurred at the home. The preliminary investigation indicated that a confrontation occurred inside of the residence. During the course of the altercation, Marcella was stabbed. It is unknown if others were present inside the home when the stabbing incident occurred.
