Tucson pedestrian killed in midtown

On the night of November 26, Tucson Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Prince Road and Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located 43-year old Jose A. Pichardo who had been struck by a vehicle. Mr. Pichardo was transported to a local area hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Detectives determined that a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria taxi cab was traveling eastbound on Prince Road in the curb lane. The pedestrian was crossing
Prince Road southbound just east of Fairview Avenue. The Crown Victoria struck the pedestrian as he was crossing the street. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk.
