A female Mexican national was arrested Sunday, December 1st, at the Port of San Luis after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered more than 12 pounds of heroin and more than 13 pounds of methamphetamine within the rocker panels (vehicle frame).
Last night, Cristina Bernal-Delgado, 44, of San Luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, was referred for additional inspection of her Ford sedan. After a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs in the rocker panels of the vehicle frame, officers removed five packages of heroin, worth in excess of $166,000, and eight packages of methamphetamine valued at more than $206,000.
The drugs and vehicle were seized. Bernal was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
