Old Vail homicide suspect arrested

old-vail-connectOn January 22, 2014, an arrest was made in connection to a homicide that occurred on June 13, 2013. Detectives determined that the victim and arrested suspect were engaged in a drug offense, where the victim was shot and died from his injuries.

The victim was identified as 20-year-old Rafael Siquieros-Tapia.

On June 13, 2013, just before 7:30 a.m., a call was made to 911 about a male lying in the middle of the road on Old Vail Connection near Country Club Road. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office and Rural Metro Fire Department originally responded and located a male deceased in the middle of the road with obvious signs of trauma. The location of the incident was determined to be in the city limits. PCSO secured the scene and contacted the Tucson Police Department to conduct the investigation.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Hector Molina. Molina was booked into Pima County Jail on one count of First Degree Murder.

This investigation is still on-going. Detectives have not ruled out the potential of additional arrests. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
