Arizona representatives cosponsor “Stop This Overreaching Presidency” resolution

obama-bidenArizona Representatives Paul Gosar, Trent Franks, Matt Salmon, and David Schweikert co-sponsored the Stop This Overreaching Presidency (STOP) Resolution (H. Res. 442), a resolution that would direct the House to institute legal action to require the President to comply with the law.

“The fact that we were forced to introduce legislation to judicially force the President to comply with the laws of the land is incredibly sad. One expects imperial behavior in countries ruled by dictators but not in the United States of America, which was once known worldwide as a beacon of freedom and hope,” said Gosar in a statement released last week. “From President Obama’s capricious one-year delay in the ObamaCare employer mandate to his arbitrary decision to grant deferred removal action to illegal immigrants, his transgressions against the Constitution are egregious and must stop.”

According to Gosar, perhaps the most important role of the President is defined in Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, which states that the President “shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”

“After carefully researching the standing the House of Representatives has and what action we can take, I have introduced a resolution to STOP the President’s clear overreach,” said Representative Tom Rice of South Carolina.

According to the representatives, Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution entitled, “Presidential Responsibilities”, states that the President “shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” However, President Obama has chosen to ignore some of the laws written by Congress.

The representatives hold that the President has repeatedly ignored this Constitutionally-mandated duty, to include:
1.His one-year extension of the “substandard” insurance policies.
2.His one-year delay in Obamacare’s employer mandate.
3.Granting deferred removal action to illegal immigrants.
4.His waiver of the welfare work requirement under TANF.

  1. Good move! It’s just mind numbing wondering why this has taken so long.

  2. House resolutions are fluff in an election year is why this has taken so long – if there is no senate co-sponsorship this is just hyper-ballistic BS – “oh we tried’ but the mean ol president and senate wouldn’t let us play and we really wanted to do something but nothing happen cus they’re meanies… so vote for us cus we’re the good guys and we introduced a measure – yeah knowing it never had a chance in hell of doing anything about anything but it gives you a talking point when you go home and ask for money and votes.

Sorry but I’ve seen this on to many other measures lately – unless they hold the line and ‘stop things’ when the budget moves along – it’s the only real weapon they have on the congressional side of the isle – we’ve seen what the nation does when you ‘cut off the money ‘it squeaks like a pig’ and gives in…

  3. Impeach Obama. That might stop his lawless ways. He really thinks he’s above the rules, just like a dictator.

  4. After watching the O’reilly interview last night, all I can say is the President is an egotistical serial liar. Everything is everybody elses fault, and the media allows him to get away with it. He is far worse than Jimmy carter. Never thought I’d see that.

  5. And on this stage, dancing for the little folk back home, the AZ4 trying to sing with the band.

Where were the AZ4 when Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and many of this list of conservative “R” representatives were trying to defund obamaocare? Where were the AZ4 hiding on every spending bill for the last 5 years, when many of this list of conservatives were trying to attach amendments to defund obamaocare, to reign in the illegal crusades of the EPA, IRS, ATF and the obamao czardom and the AZ4 voted them down? Where did they hide when many of these conservatives started asking for an accounting of the muslim brotherhood presence in the obamao government, and the AZ4 let the McAmnestys and the McGrahamnestys shout them down?

Where have the AZ4 been hiding while the “R” elite leadership talks about AMNESTY for 40-50 million illegals, one step at a time? Notice they never sing solo, never as a quartet-but only when there’s a chorus line in which to hide?

I seem to remember that the House hired private counsel to defend DOMA when obamao illegally declared he would not enforce what he didn’t like. As soon as the surge of publicity died out, leadership fired the counsel and threw DOMA over the cliff. That further cemented the obamao destruction of the military, and of many states’ efforts to defend the sanctity of marriage. Where were the AZ4?

I just don’t think we can count on the AZ4 to ever fight for US. Don’t look for any of them to step out onto center stage. AZ and US deserve better.

    God bless America.
