Mom and kids nabbed by San Luis CBP with $392K of meth

A mom and her two teenage sons were taken into custody Monday for attempting to smuggle more than 25 pounds of methamphetamine into the United States.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred the trio, a 49-year-old Mexican national and her two sons, ages 19 and 18, for an inspection of their Hyundai sedan. After a narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, officers located 14 packages of methamphetamine worth $392,150.

The drugs and vehicle were seized. The three subjects were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
