Cochise County woman crashes into building

cochise-county-crashOn Friday June 27, 2014 at approximately 7:22 am, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a vehicle which had run into a building at 1150 S Highway 92 in Sierra Vista.

Sheriff’s deputies responded along with medical personnel and located a 2012 Toyota Camry which had run over the curb and into the building.

Deputies spoke with the 67 year old driver of the vehicle who advised that as she was parking, the vehicle accelerated for an unknown reason before hitting the building.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Four people were inside of the office at the time of this incident and received cuts and abrasions with one opting to transport himself to the hospital for knee pain. Another occupant of the building also received possible head injuries and was taken to the Sierra Vista Regional Health Care Center for treatment.

A building inspector was asked to respond to the location to determine the extent of structural damage and occupant safety issues.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and no citations have been issued pending the completion of the investigation.
