The caller advised that he is renting out a residence that previously belonged to his father who was known to have explosive items in the property before his death.
The bag was located hanging in the barn and the caller requested assistance from the bomb technicians. The Sheriff’s Office bomb tech responded along with and EOD tech from the Department of Public Safety and an EOD Canine and handler from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.
The bag was removed from the area and upon further inspection it was found to contain a Halloween mask and not explosives.
The Sheriff’s department says this is a situation where it was better to be safe than sorry.
