Border Patrol agents find Herford woman after crashing into ditch

On Saturday December 27, 2014 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance in progress in the Hereford area and the male caller advised that his wife had left the home in his vehicle.

Deputies spoke to the reporting person who advised that his wife had began fighting with him before telling him she was going to Tucson and she took the vehicle and left. The person said that the woman returned to the home at approximately 11:00 p.m and left on Hereford Road possibly intoxicated.

Deputies searched the area and at approximately 12:30 a.m. they located the vehicle which had crashed into a ditch at Hereford and Circle I Road. The female was not located in or around the vehicle which prompted an agency assist request from US Border Patrol and Cochise County Search and Rescue.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., USBP reported that they had located the female in the area and she was turned over to CCSO for interviews and processing.

Leticia Bascurto-Lockhart, 50, of Hereford was booked into the Cochise County Detention Division on charges of domestic violence/disorderly conduct, domestic violence/criminal damage, and preventing the use of a telephone to request help. This subject has been released on her own recognizance after seeing the judge this morning.
