Arrest made in Sierra Vista double shooting

On Thursday March 19, 2015 in the afternoon hours, Julius Walker was located in the west Phoenix area and taken into custody by USMS agents on charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Endangerment, and being a Prohibited Possessor. Walker is being held on a $500,000 bond pending his return to Cochise County.

On Friday January 2, 2015 at approximately 1:53 p.m. the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of people hearing shots fired and there were possibly two subjects injured in the area of the 1000 block of Chapperal Circle in Sierra Vista.

Sierra Vista Police and Fire Medics responded to the scene along with Sheriff’s Office personnel and located two male subjects who were suffering gunshot wounds to the hip and thigh. Both victims were transported to a Tucson hospital for treatment of their injuries.

A silver KIA was reportedly driven by a suspect in the shooting was located in the Sierra Vista area after Detectives developed leads that identified the vehicle owner. A search of the vehicle resulted in locating a 380 semi-automatic handgun that is believed to be the weapon used in this incident.

Numerous additional leads were developed in the initial stages of the investigation that identified a suspect as 25 year old Julius Walker of Sierra Vista.

An arrest warrant was issued for Walker and contact was made with the US Marshals Service to assist in locating and arresting this suspect.
