The Douglas Police Department, along with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team continue to search the area East and North East of Douglas for Mr. Gamboa. The Police Department has also requested that New Mexico Authorities issue a Silver Alert and local police agencies (Deming and Lordsburg, New Mexico) to be on the look out for Mr. Gamboa.
We have received numerous tips regarding possible sighting of Mr. Gamboa in New Mexico and even in Tucson, Arizona. These tips are being investigated and as of this evening, Mr. Gamboa remains missing. Mr. Gamboa has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (N.C.I.C.) as a missing person and if anyone sees Mr. Gamboa, please contact your nearest police agency.
Mr. Gamboa,was first reported missing on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at approx. 5:40 pm, the Douglas Police Department was advised of a 80 year old man, who was missing from the Douglas Area. The reporting party, advised Douglas Police Officer that his father was last seen between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, after he left for a walk from the 700 block of 16th Street.
The man, identified as Mr. Guadalupe Gamboa,suffers from Alzheimer’s and Dementia and was new to the area. Mr. Gamboa is 5’4″, 150 pounds, but may appear shorter due to a back problem. He has gray hair and was last seen wearing a tan or green ballcap (may have said Army or US Vet), last seen wearing a tan or blue t-shirt, blue jeans and black boots.
Mr. Gamboa had a last known address in the Deming, New Mexico prior to being moved to Douglas by his son and may have been trying to get back to New Mexico. If you have seen Mr. Guadalupe Gamboa, please contact the Douglas Police Department as soon as possible at 520-417-7550.
