Spurlock Back To Jail After Botched Attempt to Steal Sheriff’s Office Vehicle

Sheriff’s deputies arrest 29-year-old David Spurlock, who had just been released from jail, for attempting to steal a marked Sheriff’s Office semi-truck from the 4th Avenue Jail.

Spurlock was originally arrested on Wednesday 8/26/15 for possessing meth and drug paraphernalia. He was released per court order later that same day. Sheriff’s detention officers had to escort Spurlock from the intake facility during his release as he did not want to leave the facility.

“Maybe he liked the food so much, he thought he would take a truck load of my vegetarian meals with him.” says Sheriff Arpaio.

Video shows Spurlock running around the 4th Avenue Jail immediately upon release to a marked Sheriff’s Office semi-truck & trailer that was backed into the 4th Avenue Jail loading docks. Spurlock was able to access the cabin of the truck where he successfully disengaged the airbrakes, however he was unable to start the truck.

During the interview with Sheriff’s detectives, Spurlock admitted to attempting to steal the truck and stated that he was “going to sell it for money”.

Spurlock was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on a charge of Burglary and is currently being held without bond.
