YUMA, Arizona — Approximately 400 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated value of $200,000, was taken off the streets in separate incidents late last week thanks to the efforts of Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents.
During the first incident, Border Patrol agents recovered a go-kart that illegally crossed the U.S. border along the Colorado River, after its driver attempted to elude pursuing agents. After a brief chase, the driver bailed out of the go-kart and absconded back to Mexico. Agents immediately secured the go-kart, and discovered 203 pounds of marijuana stuffed and strapped inside the vehicle. Agents say the estimated value of the load is $101,500.
Earlier that same day, a Border Patrol canine unit seized 195 pounds of marijuana discovered in the trunk of a vehicle travelling through the Highway 95 checkpoint. The estimated value of the drugs was $97,500.
Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents effectively combat smuggling organizations attempting to illegally transport people and contraband through southwestern Arizona and California. On a typical day in Fiscal Year 2014, CBP seized 10,327 pounds of drugs while conducting operations nationwide. Citizens can help the Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection by calling 1-866-999-8727 toll-free to report suspicious activity. Callers can remain anonymous.

This is absolutely amazing – a vehicle traveling through the SR95 checkpoint smuggling illegal drugs but with NO human occupants! This must be the first time in history a driverless vehicle has been used by the MX drug cartels on American soil. Where are the photos?
Or, perhaps it is possible there really were human-offal occupants, and Yuma BP is just hiding the information about them, hoping Americans won’t notice. Think so? Gosh, I guess I just hafta ask…
…and the smugglers names, residences & citizenship histories are?______________ How ’bout the rest of the story?–in the interest of good & honest reporting.
