On Sunday, Sepember 27, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Scottsdale Police Department received a call from the Scottsdale airport about a white Honda Civic sedan that had smashed through one of the gates.
The suspect vehicle was reported to be driving around on the airfield inside of the airport grounds. The Honda Civic then attempted to leave the airport property by smashing through a fence line. The Honda Civic became stuck in the fence line and the driver was quickly taken into custody by responding officers. The driver was identified as Preston Scott Andrews (3-28-92).
Andrews was arrested for Extreme D.U.I. and felony criminal damage. The investigation is on-going and detectives are working with the FAA in regards to additional federal charges. There are no links to terrorism at this time.
