Oro Valley Police Officer Shoots Resident

On September 29, 2015, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) was conducting following up in the 9000 Block of north Shadow Mountain in Oro Valley in reference to an unspecified incident that occurred that morning.

According to the department, when officers attempted to make contact with the resident, an Oro Valley officer became involved in a shooting. The suspect in this case was injured and transported to Banner-University Medical Center. There were no officers injured. The suspect’s condition at this time is not known.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department was contacted to complete the officer involved shooting investigation. The investigation is on-going.
