Tombstone Man Among Those Killed In C-130 Crash

Carlos Carrasco, from Tombstone, was among six American airmen and five civilians killed when a U.S. Air Force C-130J military transport plane crashed last week at an air base in eastern Afghanistan, according to U.S. officials.

Mr. Carrasco worked as a contractor for Northrop Grumman in Sierra Vista and was serving in Afghanistan as an unmanned aerial vehicle mechanic and technician.

Rep. Martha McSally stated that Mr. Carrasco “died while serving alongside his peers to make all of us here at home safer, and our country and community are grateful for his brave service as we mourn his tragic loss. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones.”
