On November 24, 2015, at approximately 12:05 a.m., a Pima County deputy noticed a male slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle parked in a car wash bay at 2600 West Valencia Road. The deputy knocked on the driver’s window to check his welfare and noticed that the man was in medical distress. The deputy immediately called for medical assistance.
The Drexel Heights Fire Department responded to the incident location to evaluate and treat the male, identified as 34-year-old Jose Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez was then able to communicate with paramedics. As he was being treated, Mr. Hernandez suddenly became aggressive with the paramedics and then ran towards Valencia Road.
