Tempe Holiday Family Fun Factory Returns

Experience the charm of Santa’s Workshop by visiting Tempe’s annual Family Fun Factory. This free, family-friendly event will delight visitors of all ages from 6:30-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, within the Tempe Community Complex, located at 3500 S. Rural Rd. on the southwest corner of Rural Rd. and Southern Ave.

The Edna Vihel Activities Center, Kid Zone Enrichment Program, Kiwanis Recreation Center, Tempe Community Action Agency, Tempe History Museum and Tempe Public Library are partnering to host this year’s event, allowing for a wider array of activities, experiences and holiday memories.

Kick-start your holiday creativity with make-and-take art projects at the Edna Vihel Activities Center. While you’re there decorate cookies, write Letters to Santa and enjoy some hot cocoa.

Kid Zone will engage guests with stimulating science projects, which are representative of the types of activities found within their Enrichment Program.

Tempe High School’s Mariachi band will add extra jingle and joy to the night with performances of traditional Mariachi music between 7 and 9 p.m. at the Tempe History Museum. While at the Museum, make sure to stop-by the Library’s table where children can check-out holiday themed books for free!

The Tempe Community Action Agency will be at the event collecting toys to benefit their annual Holiday Toy Shoppe. Sponsored by IKEA-Tempe, all collected toys will help families in need shop for their children this holiday season. Event-goers are welcome to donate new, unwrapped toys, and monetary donations will also be accepted on-site.

Additional entertainment includes a live choir and a visit from the jolliest old elf himself, Santa. Guests are encouraged to bring cameras to capture photos with Santa.
