Motorists traveling on westbound Interstate 10 between Benson and Tucson next week should allow for extra travel time and expect delays as pavement improvement work resumes.
When work is completed, eastbound I-10 in the same area will be resurfaced in mid-January.
Paving on westbound I-10 will occur weekdays from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Travel delays can be expected during work hours. Paving work on Monday (Jan. 4) will be between Mescal Road/J-Six Ranch (Exit 297) and Empirita Road (Exit 292). Tuesday (Jan. 5) through Friday (Jan. 8) work will occur west of Marsh Station Road (Exit 291).
When paving is completed on westbound I-10, the work will switch to the eastbound lanes between the junctions with State Route 83 (Exit 281) and State Route 90 (Exit 302). Work hours on eastbound I-10 will be between midnight and 4 p.m. weekdays.
Paving operations on eastbound I-10 will begin the week of Jan. 11 and will move from SR 83 toward Benson. The work will require lane closures on eastbound I-10 through February 2016.
