Thanks to an alert Citizen the ADI was made aware of a conflict and questioned the Yavapai County Sheriffs Office. Below is the correction received today Jan 4, 2015 at 10:45 AM.
On New Year’s Eve, YCSO received notification from the Department of Public Safety correcting offender Goldsmith’s level risk from level 2 to level 1.
Media notifications for level 1 offenders are NOT required per Arizona Revised Statute – YCSO is requesting that media outlets rescind any public notification regarding this offender. On behalf of DPS, who coordinates offender registration records statewide, we apologize for any confusion resulting from the original media release.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Community Notification on Sex Offenders Law. Twisden Goldsmith has indicated that he will be living in the unincorporated area of Yavapai County.
62-year-old Twisden Robert Goldsmith, has been convicted of a sex offense which allows for community notification. This sex offender has advised the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office that he will be living in Prescott, AZ., 86305. He is not wanted by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
In January, 2002, 48-year-old Offender was convicted of one count of sexual conduct with a minor, after arranging over the internet to pay for oral sex with someone he believed was 13-year-old. Offender is on probation and is considered a level 2 (intermediate) risk.
This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is the Sheriff’s Office belief that an informed community is a safer community. Citizen abuses of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated.
