“Operation Diablo Express” Nabs Sinaloa Cartel Members

A secret security operation, dubbed “Operation Diablo Express,” lasted a whole day on the border between Arizona and Mexico to stop two dozen alleged members of the Sinaloa cartel, a spokeswoman for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

The operation occurred on Friday when several security agencies met in Lukeville, Arizona, on the border with Mexico.

A division of ICE, helped Mexican authorities to arrest 24 alleged members of the Sinaloa cartel working around Sonoyta, Mexico, and the US border, said ICE spokeswoman Gillian M. Christensen.

The operation was carried out “with the utmost secrecy” and took all day Friday when many security agents worked both Lukeville and Sonoyta, neighboring towns on both sides of the border and on the road to Rocky Point.

ICE helped the Mexican federal police to enter the United States for this operation, Christensen said.
