Governor Doug Ducey has appointed Gregory Edgar director of the Arizona State Lottery. Edgar is the founder of Edgar Strategic Communications, a PR firm he started in 2014.
He previously served as chief operating officer and senior communications strategist for Gordon C. James Public Relations. In this role, Edgar was responsible for managing the firm’s daily operations while directing communication campaigns for a variety of clients – including Arizona Public Service, and the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. According to the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, Edgar’s clients also included A.T. Still University, Carl’s Jr.- Arizona, Intel, Masterfoods USA (M&M Mars), the Pat Tillman Foundation and the Republican National Committee.
According to his biography on Examiner.com, Edgar spent several months in Iraq helping the Coalition Provisional Authority and the Interim Iraqi Government with strategic communications.
Edgar earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Arizona State University. He has lived in Gilbert, Arizona since 1977.
