Sasabe CBP Officers Seize $146K Worth of Marijuana

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Field Operations officers seized almost 292 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $146,000, hidden in a truck occupied by two females from Sells, Ariz. on April 22 at Arizona’s Port of Sasabe.

CBP officers discovered more than 200 packages of marijuana within the dashboard area of a smuggling vehicle, as well as within the floorboard.

CBP officers arrested the women after locating the drugs using a drug-detection canine during a secondary inspection.

Officers processed the vehicle and drugs for seizure, and referred both women to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
