This morning at approximately 10:15, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Bisbee resident about his 15 year old son who was missing/lost.
Fortunately missing Bisbee hiker was checked by medics and released to his parents. No further public safety involvement.
Our deepest gratitude for the Search and Rescue personnel as well as the helicopter staff, US Border Patrol, and medics who responded to this critical event. We are glad that the situation had a positive outcome!
The father eported that his son had left his home in Zacatacas Canyon at approximately 5:00 am today to hike in the Mule Mountains near Bisbee.
The man advised that he received a call from his son at about 8:30 am who advised that he was out of water and out of breath and he did not know where he was exactly. The man advised that his son indicated he was east of “B” Mountain in Bisbee and last time he spoke to his son, the son advised that he could no longer see the mountain.
Cochise County Search and Rescue responded along with air support from CCSO Geronimo and Department of Public Safety Ranger as well as US Border Patrol and continue searching in the mountain area described.
Sheriff Dannels reminds us, remember to stay out of the heat, keep hydrated, and always stay safe out there!
