Salvation Army Needs Sunscreen, Hats, Lip Balm & Bandanas

Phoenix, AZ (June 23, 2016) – The Salvation Army’s 13 Hydration Stations and Cooling Centers will remain open at least until Thursday, June 23 as extreme heat warning continue. In addition, some Salvation Army centers will be doing homeless outreach at nearby parks.

The Salvation Army has a plentiful supply of water, however is running low on supplies like hats, sunscreen, bandanas and lip balm. Those interested in donating supplies can call 602-302-7183 or make a monetary donation at salvationarmyphoenix.org.

The Salvation Army is also in need of volunteers at the Hydration Stations and Cooling Stations. Please call Danielle Shankle at 602-267-4117 or visit phoenixsa.volunteersfirst.org to volunteer.

  • SW corner 16th St. and Jefferson (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

  • Sun City Corps: 17420 N. Avenue of the Arts Blvd. Surprise (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Apache Junction Corps: 605 East Broadway Road, Apache Junction (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Estrella Mountain Corps: 11 North 3rd Ave., Avondale (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
