Mesa Man Arrested For Assault, Child Abuse

On Thursday afternoon, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an unknown trouble at 607 S. 93rd Street in Mesa, Az.  When Maricopa County Sheriff deputies arrived, they met with the victim Jessica Aguirre and her 1 year old daughter who were at 93rd Street and Coralbell and left the residence when the suspect, Arturo Camacho Jr. fell asleep.

Jessica stated that Arturo, her boyfriend, had kicked and hit her and threatened her with a gun. He pointed the gun it at her and her daughter and threatened to kill her if she left the home.

MCSO  attempted several times to call Arturo with no response.  Sheriff’s deputies received information that Arturo was in fact inside the home and had a friend attempt to convince Arturo to come outside peacefully and follow orders from MCSO deputies.  These efforts resulted in Arturo communicating he was not coming out because he did not want to go to prison.

MCSO SWAT arrived on scene and was able to take Arturo into custody without incident. He was found hiding in a trailer next door to his residence.

Arturo was booked into MCSO 4th Ave Jail for 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Assault, threats and possibly child abuse due to Arturo pointing a gun at Jessica and her 1 year old daughter, assaulting Jessica and threatening to kill her if she left.

  1. He said he didn’t want to go to prison, eh? Well, Sparky, perhaps you should make better choices. So should the girlfriend. And to think he looks like such a fine upstanding young man…

  2. He appears to be an intelligent, caring, and law abiding fellow. Wonder what both his criminal and employment records show.
