Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies Find Over 600 Pounds Of Pot In Truck

On Thursday, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies seized over 600 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop on State Route 77 just north of Oracle. David Frank Vanelsacker, age 43, was speeding in the area of the Copper Corridor when he was pulled over.

Vanelsacker was arrested after bundles of marijuana, wrapped tar paper and plastic were discovered in the bed and cab of the truck.

Vanelsacker was booked into Pinal County Jail on charges including possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana.

“These are just some of the things that we’re dealing with. Sometimes on a daily basis, but they are definitely issues that plague all of our communities. So we just want you to know that our good deputies and the people of Pinal County are working hard to keep you safe and keep these drugs off the street,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb in a Facebook post.
