The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office as the Chief Law Enforcement Office where the offender intends reside makes this notification to the community. These notifications must be made when certain sex offenders are released from Arizona State prison, accepted under an interstate compact, or released from the county jail back into the community.
83-year-old John Stephen Richards, has been convicted of a sex offense which requires community notification. This sex offender has advised the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office that he will be living at 1804 W Deadwood Ranch, Paulden 1804 West Deadwood Ranch Road, Paulden, AZ., 86334. This individual is not wanted by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
For approximately 2 years Richards sexually molested a female child under the age of 12 that was living in his house. He was convicted in 1999 in Maricopa County for Attempted Child Molestation. He is currently on LIFETIME probation with the Yavapai County Adult Probation Office and Mr. Richards considered a level 2 (intermediate) risk.
Offenders are categorized into three levels: Level One (low risk to the community), Level Two (intermediate risk to the community) and Level Three (high risk to the community).
