Busso-Estopellan Found Guilty of Murdering Two Teens, Could Get Death Penalty

On February 14, 2018 Jesus Busso-Estoppellans, age 29, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of 1st Degree Murder and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in connection to the 2011 shooting of 18-year-old Tyler Webster and 19-year-old Olek Wladyszewski.

On June 29, 2011 Webster was able to call 911 alerting officers that he had been shot in the head while he sat in the passenger seat of his car. The driver Wladyszewski, had also been shot in the head and died at the scene. Investigators were soon able to link Busso-Estopellan through text messages to the shooting. Wladyszewski had been communicating Busso-Estoppellans minutes before the murders about meeting in the area.

Busso-Estopellan later admitted to investigators that he had lured the victims with the promise of a drug deal and then shot them both as they sat in the car. He told investigators he had planned to kill Wladyszewski and killed Webster to ensure there were no witnesses to the murder.

The jury found aggravating factors in this case and the trial is now in the penalty phase where the jury will hear presentations of evidence from both the defense and prosecutors before making a decision to sentence the defendant to death or life in prison.
