School Closings: Focus On Carson Middle School

The recent discussions revolving around teacher’s salaries have shifted the focus away from the plight of public education in general. School district funding across the state has disappeared as schools are shuttered.

In order to bring attention to a key factor in the loss of district funding, the Arizona Daily Independent will highlight closed schools over the next several months. As you will see, school closings not only impact students, parents, and teachers.

Today, we focus on Carson Middle School in the Tucson Unified School District.

Adelita voted to close an east side school? Now there’s news. Someone call the ADS, the Tucson Weekly and the Senntinel. Oh wait. They are all local news outlets who report what Raul tells them to. Just like channel 4 tv.

  2. So they have been holding this property waiting for future growth> From where, Mexico? Sell it already. Stop the bleeding.

  3. After Carson Middle School was closed and the students farmed out to Secrist, weren’t there many instances of discipline problems which led to the relocation of the principal to another school? That relocation was due to the ridiculous TUSD discipline policies that didn’t require a high level of cooperation and good behavior from the students, but the principal got blamed. If TUSD is cramming that many students together in over-crowded classrooms, they should have strict rules of behavior for the students and allow the school administrators to enforce those rules.

  4. I drove past carson middle school the other day, april 2018. There are crates and work trucks. What are they doing?
