Domino’s Paving For Pizza Might Save Pima County Taxpayers, Roads

Pima County Supervisor Ally Miller is ever in pursuit of ways to get the roads paved and save taxpayers money. On Monday, Miller hit upon a solution that instantly became a hit with her Facebook followers: Domino’s Paving for Pizza.

Across the County, roads are in failing condition. Yet, Miller has been unable to convince her fellow supervisors to support fixing the roads with monies from the State intended for road repairs. Year after year, the monies are swept by County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry into the General Fund and used for his growing government not the streets’ gaping holes.

Within minutes of Miller publishing a message about Domino’s Paving for Pizza program, her Facebook followers shared the news:

Miller’s fellow supervisors have been pushing a tax increase for road repairs.

“I’m guessing the management of Domino’s has heard a lot about bad roads from their employees who brave the monstrous potholes daily to deliver the pizza,” said Miller. “This marketing campaign is absolutely brilliant. What a great way to turn a negative to a positive for the community and create a lot of goodwill for Domino’s Pizza. People will not forget that they offered up grants to help solve the problem. It’s so refreshing to see a local business give back. I immediately nominated my zip code for a grant from Domino’s to repair our roads because I know the majority of our roads haven’t been touched for at least 25 years. Thank You Domino’s Pizza.”

PIZZA-LOVERS AT WORK

POTHOLES, CRACKS, AND BUMPS IN THE ROAD CAN CAUSE IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE TO YOUR PIZZA DURING THE DRIVE HOME FROM DOMINO’S. WE CAN’T STAND BY AND LET YOUR CHEESE SLIDE TO ONE SIDE, YOUR TOPPINGS GET UN-TOPPED, OR YOUR BOXES GET FLIPPED. SO WE’RE HELPING TO PAVE IN TOWNS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO SAVE YOUR GOOD PIZZA FROM THESE BAD ROADS.

After nominating a zip code for Domino’s paving assistance, County residents can order their dinner.
