Arizona politicos wasted no time after President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Anthony Kennedy’s assumption of senior status. The tweets flew within minutes of the announcement –
Judge Brett Kavanaugh has impeccable credentials & a strong record of upholding the Constitution. He is widely respected as a fair, independent & mainstream judge. I look forward to the Senate moving forward with a fair & thorough confirmation process. https://t.co/5Y5oWo36RB

To be clear. @realDonaldTrump should not be able to appoint any person to the Supreme Court while he is being investigated. He could nominate Merrick Garland and the Senate should still not confirm him till Mueller is done with his investigation.

I commend @POTUS @realDonaldTrump for again keeping his promise to nominate a Supreme Court candidate who follows the intent of our Constitution and not legislate from the bench. I give my unequivocal endorsement to Judge Brett Kavanaugh. #SCOTUSpick pic.twitter.com/4qCiyiRx37

I want to offer my congratulations to Judge Brett Kavanaugh for being nominated by @realdonaldtrump to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. We’re counting on Judge Kavanaugh to get a fair and speedy hearing by the U.S. Senate.

We need judges who will interpret the law and not make policy from the bench. The courts have become too politicized. Kavanaugh is an excellent choice who will say what the law is, not what he wants it to be.
