Nearly 200 Illegal Aliens Apprehended By Border Patrol In 33-Hour Period

Yuma Station agents arrested a group of 188 illegal aliens over a 33-hour period.

From noon on September 11 to 9:00 a.m. on September 12, Yuma Station Border Patrol agents encountered 188 illegal aliens from countries other than Mexico.

Yuma Station Border Patrol agents apprehended 23 groups of people from seven countries. Most of the illegal aliens, 149, are from Guatemala. While 155 of the people were traveling as families, agents identified 18 as unaccompanied children.

Across the southern border, agents have seen a continuous increase the number of migrants surrendering to agents patrolling along the border.

Agents are processing the individuals for immigration violations, in accordance with Yuma Sector guidelines.
