An investigation by the Cochise County Sheriffs Office into the smuggling of contraband into the Cochise County Jail began in June 2018, and resulted in the arrest of three adults.
Detectives discovered that Sierra Vista residents Marybeth Ray, age 32, and Marc Meeker, age 35, were mailing contraband to Larry Douglas, age 30, who was incarcerated in the Cochise County Jail.
The correspondence to Douglas was intercepted and contraband was located inside.
Meeker was arrested in July and was charged in reference to this case. Douglas, who was in custody at the time, was also charged.
On September 10, 2018, Marybeth Ray was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for charges in this case and charges are pending for other suspects.
